Shit-ay first drafts
I really enjoyed reading this packet about first drafts. I really liked the part where they quoted this man that is a writer and how every morning he wakes up and says to himself, “you do have a choice, you can either write or kill yourself.” I found this to be rather humorous because it’s obviously not like he would kill himself but I can totally relate to how he feels. I do because it’s the honest truth, we can either do our homework..or call it quits.
The next part of this story that I found to be be humorous was the part about how the narrator said that she was worried that if she didn’t write her draft soon, she was scared that she would get creamed by a car. Her drafts were always so incredibly long that all her colleagues would poke fun at her work and say things like “its just a bit of cake”. She had an issue with being very descriptive and long winded. I find this to be one of my problems when I first start writing. I find myself writing just to write on the page, I guess we have to all start somewhere.
